Sunday worship for children and youth
At Cedar Park, we strive to provide families and their children with an especially warm welcome. We appreciate the effort and intentionality required to get a family out the door to church on a Sunday morning!
To help everyone feel at home, we do our best to make the worship experience as family-friendly as possible. We have a staffed, nursery at the back of the sanctuary where (parents can stay with their little one if they choose–the service is piped in through speakers), and a faith development program called KidZone for children ages 2 and above. We also have activities (colouring, play dough, picture books, etc.) available to keep little hands busy in the pew until KidZone begins.
Mid-way through worship, our minister invites the children to the front steps for a special message, after which the children leave to the Community Hall with the KidZone leaders. * If you are in worship for the first time, we ask that you accompany your child to their class and fill out an information form. We require an information form for each child in our care. *
In KidZone, we seek to enjoy, explore, discover and connect with the stories of the Bible–a very special book we take seriously, but not literally! We are excited to be using a fresh, new curriculum called Deep Blue. (Psst! It has a great app that parents and kids can use together during the week!)
- Tiny Tots (18 months-3 years)
- Preschool (PreK-K)
- Junior (Grades 1-3)
- Senior (Grades 4-6)
- Middle Zone (7th grade +) Our youth alternate between meeting with a Middle Zone leader and participating in worship leadership. Find out what’s NeXt for youth at Cedar Park.
Our worship experience typically runs 75 minutes (10-11:15). Parents are asked to pick up their children in the Community Hall after worship.
Questions? Please contact our Family and Youth Ministries Coordinator (FYMC), Martha Randy. We look forward to meeting you and your children some day soon.
