At the current time, the following Christian study series are taking place at Cedar Park United Church:
Words for Faithful Living Feb. 22-March 28 at 7:30 pm. A Lenten Journey through the historic and contemporary language of faith in the United Church of Canada. Each week takes a look at the context, background, content and uses of some of the ways our denomination has put its faith into words. Lots of opportunity for conversation, reflection and devotional time suitable for the Lenten season. Begins Feb 22 at 7:30 PM following the Ash Wednesday service and runs for five Wednesdays at 7:30 PM, ending March 28. Please sign up on the Activity Board or call the Church Office. “First Light: Living the Questions” Thursday mornings, 9:30-11:00 beginning on Jan. 12 and continuing for 7 weeks
Using the video series “First Light: Living the Questions” featuring John Dominic Crossan and Marcus Borg, Graeme Sutherland will facilitate discussion each Thursday morning for 7 weeks commencing Jan 12, between 9:30 and 11:00. There are no pre-requisites, just having some faith questions. All are welcome. Topics include Parables as Lures, Jesus as Lord, Substitutionary Atonement?, Demonstrations in Jerusalem, The Crowd and the Crucifixion, Jesus as Resistance, America and the New Rome.
