Outreach and Social Justice Ministry
Our Outreach offering on Sunday, January 3, raised $171 for the Montreal Diet Dispensary, a volunteer organization that provides nutritional counselling, vitamins, and essential nutrition to economically disadvantaged mothers during their prenatal care and while nursing their babies. Thank you for your generosity. On the first Sunday in each month, a Cedar Park member sells maple syrup, honey, cards, fudge and socks in support of the Montreal Diet Dispensary.
Did you know that donations are welcome at any time for our Outreach programs? Please drop off a cheque at the Church Office, payable to Cedar Park and indicate the project name.
Saint Columba House has re-opened their Clothing Room, on a limited basis. They need good used clothing of a seasonal nature. They do not have long term storage facilities so, for instance, summer dresses and shorts are not needed right now. They have asked us not to send unsorted bags. Maya Hamer has graciously agreed to be our “sorter” and we appreciate her assistance to the people of Point St Charles. Please put good winter clothing for men, women and children in the Saint Columba House box between the doors of the church building. Please take out-of-season items, toys and housewares directly to a blue Renaissance bin. Thank you.
