The CPU Coffee House Team welcomes you! Having enjoyed your summer, you must be eager to embark with us as we begin our fourth exciting season of entertainment, fellowship and fabulous eats. Whether as a performer, a member of the audience or an assistant for our set-up and refreshment crews, we hope you will participate and support this incredible ministry.

Well, as you can see, the Coffee House schedule didn’t take long to fill up! We only have March left, and someone has actually put a tentative bid on that! What an exciting season this is going to be. Mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss a single one of these spectacular evenings!

OCTOBER
We kick off the season with a bang on Friday, October 24. The theme: “It’s Only Words” - a series of recitations interspersed with cool instrumental selections. What a program of readings and what an incredible line-up of raconteurs await you on this evening: Bob Birnie, Sharon Moon, Howard Clarke, Paul Clarke, Richard Bastien, Morton Trier, Phil LeMaistre and “Sam” Kirkham. Muiscal interludes performed by Richard Bastien (guitar) and Jill Rothberg (flute).

NOVEMBER
On Friday, November 28, we look forward to bringing you two of our favourite performers, Darryl Tardy and Richard Bastien, who have teamed up for this stellar occasion to bring you a fantastic program for your listening pleasure.

JANUARY
On Friday, January 30, 2009, we toast the first Coffee House of 2009 with “Perfect Blend,” who have a brand new program for your listening pleasure. There may even be a surprise guest appearance … so don’t miss this one!

FEBRUARY
Friday, February 20 - For all you folk music lovers, we are proud to welcome back the Far Side Singers –no small feat, since one of them has moved to Ottawa since last we saw them perform! This is your chance to reminisce, drink hot chocolate with marshmallows and sing your favourite folk songs!

MARCH

APRIL
Friday, April 24 - During the first half of the evening you will hear your favourite Broadway melodies – old and new by our favourite mother and son team – Peggy and Dan LeRoy!

In the second half, Joan Welsh will lead us in a good old-fashioned sing-along of vaudeville tunes. You might be surprised to hear a few verses you’ve never heard to some familiar oldies!
