Friday, September 12, 7:30 p.m., Church Hall

Dan and Lisa LeRoy will share their summer experiences, with video and PowerPoint presentations.  Lisa spent two months in the West African country of Senegal, where she worked intensively with the “Talibé” street children, who beg on the streets for their food and water and have no opportunity for formal education.  She will describe her challenging and exciting efforts developing a program to provide these children with reliable food and an entry into primary education.  Dan volunteered with Free the Children’s sister organization, Leaders Today, in Udaipur, India, where he worked on a school building project.  He will share his impressions of the totally different universe that he encountered.  He will also give an update on Canadians for Action in Darfur, an organization that he founded with other Dawson students last year.

Proceeds of a freewill offering will go to the “Maison de la Gare” Talibé street children project in Saint Louis, Senegal.  Refreshments will be provided during the evening by the Cedar Park Youth in Action Group of Free the Children.
